Crossroads Winter Points Race #2 Update
The evening started out rough, but we were able to come home with the victory for two in a row in the BSP Heavy Winter Points series. Our box stock program is really rolling right now and I feel very confident whether on dirt or asphalt. We have a good tire program and setup, and good engines which make the driving program much easier.
Crossroads Winter Points 2010-2011
Starting from the pole position, I was able to lead all 20 laps of the season opening Winter Points race at Crossroads last night. After breaking the throttle cable on the first attempt at a green flag start, I ran the entire race driving with one hand operating the gas and the other steering the kart. This week, we head to the dirt track, where I would love to repeat that strong performance.
Justin DeVane - 2010 Crossroads Champion
Well, it was a long battle, but the dust finally settled at Crossroads Motorplex on October 23 and I was able to take the Stock Heavy Flathead points by 322 over second place. We will run one more flathead race, the World 100, which we are now automatically entered for by winning the championship, but after that who knows.
I have decided to return the black J9 kart to the Box Stock class for the Winter points series. We took the J9 Phenom to Callahan on October 15 and pulled out another top five finish at the Martinsville like bullring to bring home prize money and a strong 4th place effort.

2010 Crossroads Points Campaign
With two races remaining in the 2010 Crossroads Points Championship, the Sapp Speed Shop, Phantom Phenom ES2 #J9 driven by Justin DeVane is pulling ahead to a strong points lead. Last night was simply put, another piece of the puzzle coming together, as we finally got that first win of the year, in dominating fashion. Starting from the pole and leading all 12 laps of the Stock Heavy feature, it was just our night finally. I feel like this has given me a big boost heading into the final two races and the 22nd World 100.
Since it has been awhile since I last checked in, I also wanted to update everyone on another racing front. Last month, I took the M2 Box Stock kart to the asphalt track and was victorious in a heated 3 way battle for the win in the 12 lap feature.

May Update 2010
I am now the points leader in the Stock Heavy flathead class. I am going to try and build my lead and get out front to a comfortable lead, so I'm taking it as I must still run good and get solid finishes. What could have been a good weekend for me at the previous races didn't turn out very well, after I was taken out by another driver on the second lap of the feature. We were able to still rally and finish 2nd, which is my 3rd consecitive 2nd-place finish in a row in five races. So far I have four 2nd place finishes and a 5th (race where engine mount came loose and we fell back as chain came loose). We will be at it again this weekend, May 15th at Crossroads Motorplex trying to pick up that first victory of the year.
Good Run Saturday Night
I had a very good run Saturday night at Jasper (Crossroads Motorplex). After starting pole in the first heat race, but tires didn't fire right off and I slipped into third. In the second heat, I start tail end and ran up to 2nd.
In the feature, I was lined up second row inside and on the start moved into second but the caution flew. They lined up back up single file and we maintained the third position overrall, but a 2nd place in class, which helped tremeously in our points battle. With that secone place, I cut the lead to first by half and feel good about our setup and tires.

Crossroads Review
It's a little late, but I wanted to post on our first points race back on the 27th of February at Crossroads. It was a cold night, and we struggled quite a bit because of that. I did not have the time during the week to get a set of tires prepped for such cold conditions, but managed to bring a set down around 38 for the feature and that help a good bit. I also should mentioned that I had unloaded our hauler on Thursday night because I did not expect to have it for Saturday, since it isn't mine. On Friday afternoon, I had gotten the truck back, great... unfortunately, I forgot to reload the generator, folding chairs, and a few other helpful things. We managed to muscle out a 2nd place finish, with the wrong tires and a tach that was playing tricks on me, so I'll take it and move forward with hopes of doing better on the 27th of March for the second Crossroads point race. Next up, the FKA series in Dirt Devils. The FKA season didn't start out as I hope for me at Crossroads. An ok qualifing effort put me just outside the top 10 in 11th. I had moved up to 7th around halfway when I got a bump from behind and away we when off the top of turn 2. A caution followed two laps later, but the spin put me too far back and I was only able to get back into 11th by the checkered.
